St.
Alban's Church, locally often referred to simply as the English Church, is an Anglican church in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was built from 1885 to 1887 for the benefit of the growing English congregation in the city. Designed by Arthur Blomfield as a traditional English parish church in the Gothic Revival style, it is in a peaceful park setting at the end of Amaliegade in the northern part of the city centre, next to the citadel Kastellet and the Gefion Fountain and Langelinie. It is constructed in the form of a pentagon with bastions at its corners. Kastellet was
continuous with the ring of bastioned ramparts which used to encircle Copenhagen
but of which only the ramparts of Christianshavn remain today.
King Christian IV of Denmark initiated Kastellet's construction in 1626 with the building
of an advanced post, St. Anne's Redoubt (Danish: Sankt Annæ Skanse), on the coast north
of the city. The redoubt guarded the entrance to the port, together with a blockhouse that
was constructed north of Christianshavn, which had just been founded on the other side
of the strait between Zealand and Amager. At that time the fortifications only reached as
far north as present day Nørreport station, and then returned south east to meet the coast at Bremerholm, the Royal Shipyard. However, part of the king's plan was to expand the
area of the fortified city by abandoning the old East Rampart and instead extend the
rampart straight north to connect it to St. Anne's Redoubt. This plan was not completed
until the mid-1640s, shortly after King Frederick III succeeded King Christian IV.

statue represents Absalon as a military
commander, mounted on a rearing horse, wearing mail and a helmet, holding an axe in his right hand. The statue faces Christiansborg Palace on Slotsholmen, where Absalon's bishop's castle once stood, but he turns his head to the right, looking in the direction of Copenhagen City Hall. The statue was a gift to the City of Copenhagen from Axel Heide, managing director of Privatbanken. Vilhelm Bissen was charged with the design of the statue while Martin Nyrop designed the plinth. is a square in Malmö. Construction began in 1538 with the
demolition of The Monastery of the Holy Spirit (Heligandsklostret),
which with its cemetery occupied about 70% of the area of the
future square.

The stately Malmö Town Hall (Rådhuset),
the largest of its kind in the Nordic countries at the time, located on the

I Lomma tok vi av fra sykkelveien
og tok turen innom Lomma sentrum.
Der ble det kaffe og kake på
Lomma Hembageri.
Så fulgte vi sykkelveien til vi nærmet oss
dagens overnattingsted som var
Barsebäck Resort.
For det meste skya vær, men også litt sol,
en del vind, men denne gangen hadde vi medvind.

Vartovs opprinnelse står i forbindelse med en vannmølle ved Rosbækken i dagens Hellerup, hvor Rosbæk Møllegård ble oppført på møllens jorder. I 1566 overtok Frederik II gården som ble benyttet som jaktsted og kalt
Rosbækgård. Gården ble drevet av skiftende festere og fra 1585 ble det
også gitt tillatelse til å drive kro.
I 1607 ble Vartov innredet til hospital, dvs. pleiehus for fattige, syke og gamle.
Da hospitalet måtte flytte i 1630 flyttet navnet med og det ble oppført et
Ny Vartov til erstatning for det gamle, som heretter naturlig nok ble kalt
